Rainy Chandigarh

It is nine am in the morning. We woke up at six thirty and were packed for the day. It was tough. I was still suffering from lack of sleep. Normally it takes me three days to unwind from the city buzz to holiday mood. This time it has been a seamless run. Other teammates were or should be in same condition. City slicker's roughing it out. Takes time and some getting used to but the adrenaline rush continues.

Rain. The salve to all tiredness. Waking up in Chandigarh washed with rain, is a nice feeling. It gives you the much needed ammunition to run the day. Three cheers to the rain.

We are on our way. Manali the destination for today. 323 km to be covered on NH21.

Starting off - 22 July 2011

Life is a rat race or rather a hamster on a wheel. You run & run forever, trying to find, reach something. Enuff!. A three week break to unclutter the mind, repriortise and start fresh. Thats what this break is... after eights months of talking, preparing, we are finally in Delhi. Sitting in a friends house,I kick start this travelogue of our exciting trip to Leh & beyond and back.

We reached Delhi last night after a cramped Indigo flight. Delhi was hot & welcoming @ 34 degrees celsius. It looks like it has rained cats and dogs to invite us in. The roads are filled with black guttery puddles where rainwater has mixed with grime and dirt and petrol slicks...

After a  sumptous meal of delhi parathas laced with butter and dahi, we start off to pick our car and bikes. Our Maruti dZire and two Royal Enfields have reached Delhi safe and sound. The weather in delhi is clamy. It is covered by a fog like smog like humid weather. We hope once we cross Delhi, we will see clear skies.

Signing off now, Log in from Chandigarh.
